About This Project

Tech Stack
Overview
I built Lumina, a cross-platform Electron desktop gallery for browsing CivitAI images and sending their prompts into a local ComfyUI server. It uses an uploaded, mapped API workflow, so a selected post can queue a generation without dragging files onto the ComfyUI canvas.
Challenge
Browsing CivitAI and regenerating a look in ComfyUI usually means copying prompts by hand, hunting missing LoRAs, and juggling downloads. I wanted a desktop app that keeps the gallery, prompt metadata, LoRA checks, and ComfyUI queue in one place, on Windows, macOS, and Linux.
What I shipped
- A frameless Electron 40 app with React 19, TypeScript, Vite, and Tailwind CSS 4
- Virtualized masonry, grid, and list views with search, base-model, period, and sort filters
- A lightbox with prompt, negative prompt, sampler metadata, and resources
- Prompt send into a running local ComfyUI server through an API workflow you upload and map yourself
- Missing-LoRA detection with downloads into the ComfyUI
models/lorasfolder - A download manager with pause, resume, retry, and a concurrency limit
- Light and dark themes, local image save, and CI plus tag-based releases for Windows, macOS, and Linux installers
Result
Lumina is open source on GitHub with a v1.0.0 release that ships Windows, macOS, and Linux installers. Artists can browse CivitAI, fill missing LoRAs, and queue prompts into their own ComfyUI from one desktop app.
